2008 CAMERON COUNTY HISTORICAL COMMISSION
HISTORY-ART CONTEST
Cash Prizes/Ribbons/Certificates/Recognition
Artists of all ages are encouraged to enter. Adult and Student Divisions, each with five categories:
Photography
Painting
Drawing
Watercolor
Mixed Media
Other
All work should be backed or framed, ready for hanging.
Each entry should include a separate card with the following information:
Artist's Name
Address
Phone
Title of Work
Historical detail, location and dates
March 31 deadline for entries
Held at the Historic Brownsville Museum, 561 East Madison Street, Brownsville
Exhibition opens with artists reception, April 3rd 2008 at 5:30 p.m.
All residents of Cameron County are eligible to enter including Winter Texans. The contest is designed to promote an interest in preserving the rich heritage of Cameron County.
The artwork must depict some historic building or place, event, person or persons, and/or cultural activity in or pertaining to Cameron County prior to 1957.
Monetary rewards up to $100 dollars, Ribbons and Certificates will be presented by the Cameron County Historical Commisssion.
